How should I decorate my kitchen? I have space above the cabinets to put stuff, but I don't want to go with the cliche' wine and grapes theme, nor do I like country design like roosters and cookie jars. What should I put up there that would look classy and not too cluttered?

It actually looks like the retro version of lighted cabinetry most people use to display different things within. I am not into all this excessive clutter of Knic Knacs hanging in every area of space. Creative Ways to Decorate 676 sq. ft apartment? SMALL KITCHEN Problem.? I am moving from a small (535 sq. ft) to a seemingly much much bigger 676 sq. ft. apartment this month. I am moving from second floor to third, so I will have vaulted ceilings. I am allowed to paint, and I really want to. I wanted to know of a forum or any ideas that I could get from other people for general ideas of using color, or fun interior design ideas. I love bright colors, but what colors are the easiest to paint back over with creme? Also, what can I do with lighting and such now that I will have vaulted ceilings? re-decorating kitchen...window treatment questions? I'm in the procces of redoing my kitchen and it has come time to do something with my windows. First, what color blinds should I get? I want faux wood blinds and my cabinets and trim are cherry colored and the floor is an oak color. Do I get blinds to match the cabinets/trim or the floor? Also, there are two little windows (in the corner by the sink) and one big window (in the dinning area).
