How to fix my kitchen faucet? I have two separte knobs for my kitchen faucet and the one with the warm water stopped working. It keeps dripping and it won't shut off so I turned off the main warm water valve below. Also the cold side makes a loud vibrating noise when I turn it on full, it works fine though. So do I need a new faucet or is there a way to fix this? By the way, this one is only about 8 months old.

How can we fix a cold kitchen? We have a cold kitchen and have replaced the outside doors with steel insulated doors; one leads to an unheated garage and one to an unheated patio. I notice that the recesssed flourescent light fitxture above the kitchen sink has cold air coming down from it and our kitchen cabinets and dishes in the cabinets are cold too. We had a contractor add pink fiberglass insulation to the attic and partial crawl space below the kitchen, but that hasn't helped much. The patio roof is connected to the back of the house near the kitchen and I am wondering if an air leak could be coming as a result of that. I had one insullation contractor come in and suggest we add blown-in insullation to our attic and the dirt floor of the partial crawl space under the kitchen -- and wanted to charge us $5500 for that, but as I said, we already added some insullation a month ago, but that and the new doors hasn't fixed the problem.

I need a cheap way to fix a kitchen counter.? I'm renting a house, where the previous tenants PAINTED the kitchen counters w/ a high gloss enamel paint. To make matters worse, it's baby poo brown. I've considered laminate, but would like some more ideas. Update: I have my landlord's permission to do the laminate, I was just hoping for more finishing ideas. It's that formica (50s era) stuff underneath I belive. I used Fleckstone (sray on stuff) on a bathroom counter once. It worked great, but don't think it would withstand kitchen abuse. Tell me more about the roll stuff?
How do I fix this kitchen floor? Here's the background info: So, just moved into a place where there was originally carpet down in the kitchen. (yuck). The landlord said the previous people put it there because the floor was ugly and boy, were they ever right. Whoever put the vinyl tiles in didn't do it well because it's not underneath the appliances. (probably a previous tenant). I wanted to possibly put down new vinyl on the existing flooring because I just need something to look good, and last the time that we live there. So, the actual questions... 1) Should I just use Armstrong embossing leveler and put down new tiles that way? Ripping up the old plywood underlayer may be a pain because I don't know when it was put in or if there is asbestos? 2) Right in the entrance there is a huge gap missing in the plywood/tile (probably previous people tried to rip it up and screwed it up. Is there a filler to fill probably a 3" by 4" (jagged shaped) piece of 1/4" plywood in order to prep the floor for new tile? After these first 5 responses, I plan on doing this: Taking a 1-2 inch wide piece of underlying 1/4" plywood, extending the kitchen floor by this amount in order to buy patch and seal "cement" to seal up the hole on the outer edge of the current floor. Then, using some embossing leveler, smooth out the current tile so new tile won't get distorted and will adhere well. Then taking the new tile, misaligned from the old by an inch or so, put down new tile. Any steps I'm missing?

How do I fix the kitchen lights so I don't have to use the switch box? Several of the lights are somehow connected, where there is a small box with switches to control each light through an outlet. Estimate to fix my kitchen? 4 weeks have past since we had some water damage in our kitchen. The floor, parts of drywall and 3 cabinets need replacing. This would involve; removing existing flooring and replacing it, finding matching cabinets or building matching ones, removing the countertop, replacing the drywall and removing all debris. The insurance company has sent an estimate and now we're trying to find a contractor to fix the damage , so we can fax it to the insurance company. We found 3 that would give us free estimates, but thats where we are stuck now. The first guy isn't picking up the phone , the second guy always tells us 'tomorrow' when we ask about the estimate and the third simply didn't show up or call after we agreed on a time to meet for the estimate. How long does it usualy take to get the written estimate back or are we just waiting around for nothing and should just find new contractors for estimates?
Trying to fix my kitchen cabinet doors...please help? I am trying to fix my kitchen cabinet doors. The doors use hinges which fit into clean cut depressions in the door that are circular and go into the door about 3/4 deep into it. Next to these big holes that the hinge piece fits into are two smaller holes to fasten the hinge in with screws. My problem is that these holes are so worn away no molly bolt will go into them. The holes are chewed into crap and have no ability to hold anything. I have been told that there is no type of glue or wood putty which is strong enough to take the wear of a hinge area on a door so I just figure the only way to do this is to cut into the door and make a bigger depression around the areas where the screws go in so I can glue bigger pieces of wood in and then put the screws in...Is this the best way to do this or is there an easier way? It seems so complicated and expensive buying new cabinet doors that I thought I should try this instead. any thoughts?
Need to fix fluorescent kitchen lights- fixtures not lighting up completely. Any ideas? I bought new bulbs for my 2 kitchen lights thinking my bulbs were burned out but they're still not working right. I turn the switch on & it turns on but very very faintly like it's not getting enough power or something. Is this something I can fix myself or should I call an electrician? I don't have too much experience with this stuff but do have a little bit of general knowledge. Any ideas anyone?
How can i fix my clogged kitchen sink?
