How should I decorate my new kitchen?

I need to decorate my new apartment kitchen. Any ideas? Color schemes? Themes? Cool ideas or tips? Thanks all!

1. Unless your kitchen is huge (most apartment kitchens are fairly small) paint as much white as you can. If you want some colorful accents, you could paint a color around the edges of the doors and drawers...that's IF you're allowed to paint the cabinets. A couple of colorful terry kitchen towels would help too.
2. I like white ceilings for lightness in the room.........but after that go get some flowers from a floral shop of the colors "you" like and start matching it up with what's happening in your kitchen. Have fun.
