How should I decorate my kitchen?

I have space above the cabinets to put stuff, but I don't want to go with the cliche' wine and grapes theme, nor do I like country design like roosters and cookie jars. What should I put up there that would look classy and not too cluttered?

1. Nice art glass or unique vases. Unique pottery--whatever interests you. It does not need to be a kitchen theme. Do you collect something? Display it there.
